INTRODUCTION TO THE PROGRAMME

The programme aims to equip candidates with advance knowledge in the field of study listed above. In this programme candidates are required to carry out empirical research in the field of study. A PhD student requires a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of ten semesters to complete the programme. The programme is developed to train professionals from both the public and private sectors, including academicians from within and outside the country, to become experts in the field of study listed above.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

  1. Applicants should have obtained a recognized Bachelor Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent.

  2. Applicants with working experience (minimum of 3 years) in the related field may be considered for admission.

 

SEMESTER OFFERED

First and Second semester every year.

 

PROGRAMME REQUIREMENT

  1. Credit requirement for Graduation

The minimum credit requirement for graduation is 9 credits.

 

  1. Other Requirement

  1. Seminar ( Research Proposal Presentation)

A Master of Science candidate is required to register for SPS 5903 seminar, which is a research proposal presentation (1 credit). A candidate should register for the course latest in the second semester. The candidate will be evaluated and graded satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

 

  1. Thesis

A Master of Science candidate is required to register for SPS 5999 Masters Research. This is a research project course and at the end of the programme the candidate will submit a thesis. The thesis will be evaluated and a viva voce will be conducted to asses the candidate competencies in the field of study.
