As of 19 April 2022 the latest data from the Ministry of Health Malaysia's website shows that the number of Malaysians infected with Covid 19 is around 4,402, 234. This is not a small number and the impact covers a wide range of sectors including the health, education, social, economic, employment and skills sectors. For the education sector, the MOE report shows that 21,316 students dropped out of school for the period of 31 March 2020 to July 2021, a significant number for the next generation. to be part of the future of the country. This amount in turn will create a double impact on various social and economic issues of the country. In this context, according to the chief Economist of Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Dr Mohd Afzaniam Abdul Rashid, the 5.6 per cent fall in the Malaysian economy in 2020 is quite impressive for all such parties and effects linger to date. For those who are personally infected with Covid 19 it is an experience that does not want to be repeated. However what is important and needs to be highlighted is how to help the recovery of Covid 19 patients. This is because the recovery process to some affected by this infection takes a long time.
As part of the statistics of covid patients in Malaysia and also experiencing a relatively long covid of almost 50 days, as well as the remaining effects of the Covid omnicom variation, the authors felt the need to a thorough understanding to help the patient to truly recover. This is because the effects of Covid 19 vary from one individual to another and it can also vary in a short time where today it is possible that the patient will feel fresh and suddenly the next night or the next day effects such as coughing or shortness of breath will hit quite badly. Such a precarious situation is especially demanding understanding from those around for example, if at work the role of the employer and colleagues is very much help. While at home, understanding of the life partner as well as the immediate family members is very important in helping the patient's recovery. What help do these 'long covid' patients need? Why is this important when it happens to almost the people in Malaysia? In the author's view, as many people experience it is likely that it is considered insignificant by most individuals and takes lightly the long-term effects on patients both physically and psychologically.
In the context of work, flexible working hours are essential to provide to patients who are experiencing the long-term effects of Covid 19. Ini because a prolonged cough usually increases frequently at night and a cold atmosphere, so those who experience this effect will have difficulty sleeping and there will be fatigue the next day especially in the morning. Hence, flexible working hours are very important for employees who are experiencing 'long covid'. The physical ecosystem in the workplace also needs to be improved where ventilation in the workplace area, a more comfortable layout should be noted by the employer in providing a positive atmosphere to not only the 'long covid' patients but also to the entire employee in the organization of the work. Those in the field of occupational health need to look back at the work support of what former covid patients or those who are 'long covid' need.
For the family ecosystem, the understanding of family members, especially the patient's spouse , is an important thing that is very helpful to the patient's recovery. Daily home tasks that used to be possible in a short period of time may take a long time for these patients. This is because they will quickly get tired and it will take a long space of time to recover. They also sometimes lose concentration and find it difficult to recall what was actually being done. If a family member does not understand the situation that is being experienced, it will undoubtedly lead to misunderstanding and discouragement. This atmosphere may be prolonged and create a less harmonious situation in the family ecosystem, whereas at this point the support from those closest to them is very much important for the recovery of the patient.
For school students or those in institutions, they need time to recover and also to understand the learning left behind. This condition causes them to not only be left behind in terms of learning but are likely to experience prolonged fatigue and cause the process of understanding the learning left behind to consume Time. For teachers and parents, if their children have the symptoms mentioned, they need to provide space and opportunity for these children to understand their situation and recover as it is. This is important so that teachers and parents do not put too much urgency for these children to stand out in terms of the knowledge learned but need to put more emphasis on the importance of the atmosphere and process learning that is exciting for them to learn and appreciate the knowledge gained rather than scrambling to get the highest number of A's. Incomprehension of this problem by adults who are in the environment will cause them frustration, low self-esteem and may give up from staying on in the country's education system. This will undoubtedly have a serious impact on the next generation.
In conclusion, Covid 19 teaches every individual on the face of the earth, to appreciate and improve the ecosystem in which they are located. These include emotional, psychological, physical, social relationships, relationships with nature as well as relationships with the Esa. This is because eternal well-being is a well-being that covers all aspects of the ecosystem of life. Thus, combine between conducive ecosystems and conditions that ensure that the existing ecosystems support each other important for the well-being of the 'long covid' patients who are among the many patients on the face of the earth.
