UPM SERDANG, 1 December 2023- The signing of a letter of intent (LOI) between the Institute of Social Science Studies (IPSAS) and 3 Faculty from the University of Halu Oleo (UHO) Sulawesi Tenggara, Indonesia was held on 1 December 2023 at the Institute of Social Science Studies (IPSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The counter visit from UHO was a string from the co-organization of the Fourth Regional Seminar on Community Issues (SSIK4) held at UHO, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi from 19 to 25 September 2023 which was attended by 15 delegates from IPSAS.

The LoI ceremony was attended by six (6) delegates from Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Takdir Saili, M.Si and Prof. Alberth, S.Pd., M.A., PhD from UHO Postgraduate Studies. Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Marsuki Iswandi, M.Si., Dr. Awaluddin Hamzah, S.P., M.S. and Prof. Iskandar, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D. of the UHO Agricultural Faculty. Meanwhile, Dr. Ir. Ali Bain, M.Si., IPU of the UHO Farming Faculty and all IPSAS Management Members. Also present were Dr Jeffrey Lawrence D'Silva as Deputy Director of IPSAS and Associate Prof Dr Haliza Abdul Rahman, Head of Laboratory, Youth Lab in Leadership, Politics and Citizenship, IPSAS as the Council Director who presented souvenirs to all delegates. 

The proposed cooperation programs are the Human Resource Development Program, Education Program, Research Program and Community Service Program. The commitment to achieve common objectives contained in the LoI is believed to be able to bring positive impacts in the future between the two parties. This collaboration is also able to strengthen collaboration between regional Higher Education Institutions in the international arena.
